George Alden Avery

George Alden Avery was born on July 9, 1851, in Boston, the son of Alden Avery and his wife, Lucinda M. Brown.

He married on December 25, 1886, in Boston, to Elizabeth (Eliza) Penn Ferdinand (b. 11Feb1857 in Boston; d. 22Feb1922 in Hingham, a resident of Brookline), daughter of Francis Ferdinand and his wife, Olive Hanscomb (daughter of John Hanscomb).

George Avery died on May 12, 1912, in Boston.

Career

George Alden Avery graduated from MIT.

He was an architect in Boston.  At the time of his death, his obituary in The Technology Review indicated that he designed “many public buildings in Boston, Roxbury, and Auburndale.”
