George Clarke Whiting

Personal Data

George Clarke Whiting was born on January 28, 1894, in Boston, the son of Walter Rogers Whiting and his wife, Gertrude W. Clarke (daughter of George W. Clarke).

He married on August 4, 1917, in Hingham, to Martha M. Gay, daughter of Martin Gay.  They divorced by 1940.

George Whiting died in October of 1981.

Career

George Whiting graduated from Harvard in 1917, where he was one of the organizers of the Harvard Flying Corps that served in World War I.

He was an architect in Boston from the mid-1920s until the early 1930s.
