S. J. Kessler and Sons was formed in the early 20th century in New York City by Samuel J. Kessler.  The firm was initially headed by Samuel Kessler, then by his son, Melvin E. Kessler, and then by Samuel Kessler’s grandson, Stuart Kessler.  It designed numerous commercial and apartment buildings in New York City and throughout the Northeast.  The firm remained active
through at least 1980.
