William Weare Dinsmoor was born on September 14, 1859, in Windham, New Hampshire, the son of Isaiah Dinsmoor and his wife, Margaret Margaret Park.
He married first on September 12, 1883, in Boston, to Anne Marie McDonald (b. Jan1862 in West Roxbury; d. 24Jan1901 in Boston), daughter of John McDonald and his wife, Annie Connors.
He married second on June 2, 1909, in Boston, to Grace Bertha Virginia Elmore (b. 19May1880 in Somerville; d. Oct1970 in Maplewood NJ), daughter of Herbert Elmore and his wife, Cecilia Louisa Deacon.
William Dinsmoor died on October 3, 1950, in Boston.
Career
William W. Dinsmoor was an architect in Boston from the mid-1890s until his death in October of 1950. His work included the Nesmith Library in Windham, New Hampshire (1899).
His son, William Bell Dinsmoor, was an architect, architectural historian of classical Greece, and professor of art and archeology at Columbia University.
