Dykeman and Murray was formed in about 1910, a partnership of William Arthur Dykeman and John Frederick Murray. They continued as partners until September of 1918, when John Murray joined the Army and undertook a number of war-related construction assignments at camps throughout the United States. William Dykeman continued as a sole practitioner.
Among Dykeman and Murray’s works were a number of banks, office buildings, and theatres, including the Barre National and Savings Bank in Barre, Vermont; the First National Bank in Pepperell, Massachusetts; the Conway National and Savings Bank in Conway, New Hampshire; the Mystic Theatre in Malden; and J. S. Bailey’s Department Store in Springfield.
