William E. Woodward was born in 1826-1828 in Hebron, Maine, the son of Elliot Woodward and his wife, Rebecca Munro.
He married on December 7, 1858, in Boston, to Josephine Amelia Corthell (b. 26Sep1837 in S. Abington; d. 1922 in Everett), daughter of John Corthell, Jr., and his wife, Mary (LNU).
William Woodward died on March 25, 1905, at Massachusetts General Hospital, a resident of Everett.
Career
William E. Woodward began practice as an architect in Boston in about 1859. He continued to maintain an office there until the early 1900s.
In 1884, he designed an extension to the Quincy House hotel in Boston.
