Ernest Niebuhr Boyden was born on March 23, 1852, in Boston, the son of Merrill Norton Boyden and his wife, Lucinda Niebuhr (daughter of John H. Niebuhr).
He married on May 25, 1882, to Sarah Ella Smith (b. Oct1852 in Vermont).
Ernest Boyden died on July 10, 1918, in Newton.
Career
Ernest Boyden graduated from West Newton English and Classical School. In the early 1870s, he was an draftsman and apprentice in an architects office, and by 1876 was listed in the City Directories as an architect, apparently as a sole practitioner. He continued to practice in Boston until about 1916.
