Obed F. Smith was born in 1837-1838 in South Dartmouth, the son of Richard Smith and his wife, Lucy Howland Cushman (daughter of Obed Cushman).

He married on January 1, 1870, in Boston, to Emily M. Simpson (b. 1840-1841 in Harrison ME), daughter of John Simpson and his wife, Amanda (LNU).

Obed Smith died on December 25, 1917.

Career

Obed F. Smith was an architect in Boston from the late 1860s.  He continued to maintain an office until his death in 1917.
